Childbirth Preparation Courses

  • Small Group Childbirth Preparation Class

    Prepare for the incredible journey of birth and early parenthood in a supportive group setting with other expectant parents. This evidence-based course equips you and your partner or support person with the physical, emotional, and practical tools needed for pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. With a focus on informed consent, shared decision-making, and peer connection, you'll leave feeling confident and empowered to welcome your baby.

    Key topics covered include:

    ✦ Understanding the final weeks of pregnancy and what to expect

    ✦ Recognizing the signs of labor and when to go to the hospital or call your midwife

    ✦ Pain relief and comfort measures for labor, including breathing techniques, movement, and massage

    ✦ Exploring your birth options, from natural birth to medical interventions, and understanding your rights

    ✦ How to communicate effectively with your care team and advocate for your preferences

    ✦ An introduction to breastfeeding, including latch techniques, milk supply, and common challenges

    ✦ Postpartum recovery and adjusting to life with your newborn, including tips for sleep, feeding, and emotional well-being

    Course structure:

    ✦ Classes are held on four Monday evenings from 17:30 to 20:30.

    ✦ Held in a cozy and welcoming group environment in the chapel at Gezondheidscentrum Plus, fostering connection and shared learning

    ✦ Includes engaging discussions, interactive activities, and plenty of time for questions

    This group course offers an enriching opportunity to prepare for birth while building community with other expectant families.

    This personalized, evidence-based course is designed to fully prepare you and your partner or support person for the journey of birth and early parenthood. Tailored to your needs, this class covers the physical, emotional, and practical aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. With a strong focus on informed consent and shared decision-making, you’ll leave feeling empowered and ready for the arrival of your baby.

FAQs

Where are the classes held?

Class are held in the Chapel at Gezondheidscentrum Plus, Jan Smitzlaan 7-A, 5611LD Eindhoven. Parking is on the street and is paid parking.

Private classes are held in your home. Travel costs within 10 km from Eindhoven are included in the course price. Additional travel costs greater than 10 km will be applied.

Can my partner attend?

Partners and support persons are very welcome and encouraged to attend classes with you.

When are classes held?

Group classes are held on Monday evenings to accomodate working couples. Private classes are arranged individually.

Will the courses be covered by my insurance?

Many insurance plans provide partial reimbursement for childbirth and breastfeeding preparation classes. I will give you an invoice that you can submit to you insurance company to request reimbursement.

What should I bring?

All class materials as well as light snacks and tea are provided. However, you can bring your own snack. Please dress comfortably as we stretch and move around during class.

When should I register?

Courses can be taken at anytime during your pregnancy, but I would recommend planning to take them in the last trimester of your pregnancy (form 28 weeks on).
